"We learn from history that we learn nothing from history." George Bernard Shaw said it... and yes, he is spot on.

I think one of my personal favorites is:
"It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt." - Abe Lincoln

"If history has taught us anything, its that we don't learn from history". I forget who said that... but he's spot on.

also! A gun in the hand beats a shot up cop in the building entrance, in relevance to this story.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

ABC News' version of the story says that "Police arrived on the scene within two minutes of the first reports, but it was too late to stop the gunman."

I hate to say it, but this proves once again the old adage: when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Something has got to give. But will it stop the police from killing the first responders?

Last week I was on a trip with several friends this came up. We all agreed that it should be allowed on the campus and in places where they serve liquor by the drink. On this trip I didn't carry because 3 out of 5 of my friends were packing. Two of them were preachers... I would have made the third preacher packing.
