The Montana man that shot the wolf was not a “dumb ass”. He grew up down the road from me. He was an honor student, respectful and thoughtful young man. He was raised to know “right from wrong”, and to use “common sense”. Common sense requires that when a wolf runs up to within 10 ft. of you and you have a rifle in your hands, it is time to use the weapon. Common sense does not require one to wait and see if charging wolf wants his ears rubbed. Wake up people, whether it was a wolf , bear, or pit bull, Zach did what was neaded to protect himself. End of story.

Gee thats a pretty definitive argument……especially when the two experts on the case can’t agree as to the cause of death. O and I’ll see your Hiawat and rise you a Denali national park. I may live in FL, but I travel everywhere else. Amazeing thing I’ve found about 99% of animals. You don’t fuck with them and they return the favor. You are half right a cornered animal will fight to defend itself, but a wolf is not like a wild dog, except the haveing four legs, a tail, and being a member of the canis family. I mean are you really argueing that because two things look the same that they act the same? O and I do stand corrected, there has never been a a recorded death, by a wolf, although that one in canada does seem to come pretty close. If only they could agree. A wolf is just like any other wild dog. If they fell that they are threaten or cornered they will attack. And good job Chad, I love it when people that think they know everything, get there pride feed to them on a silver plater. How does it taste Doug?

Tell ya what Dougie, I’ll plop ya down in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest here in the U.P. of Michigan for a week or so, and see how much fun it is to be stalked by wolves.
I’m SURE once they realize you aren’t supposed to be on the menu, they will play fetch with you and then trot happily off into some Disney movie.

I dunno doug, at 10 feet away, I’m pretty sure the wolf wasn’t asking Zachary Harms for directions to the nearest elk steak.

If “a little research” means sitting on my couch with a beer, and watching national geographics account of a wolf attack on a human, then, yes I have done “a little research”.

now, if i want to do some super big time lotta research, i’ll carry my beer over to the computer, pull up google, and find nice stories of toddlers getting mauled by wolves in canadia and such. it seems you have the same problem that the publisher of a newspaper had. only this publisher put his money where his mouth was, and ended up paying out for it.

Here are a couple more stories that are apparently only available to studious and beer drinking scholars such as myself, and not open to public. consider it a favor in education.

in all seriousness - saying wolves do not attack humans, is as ridiculous as saying pit bulls never attack humans. you wolf lovers are in some serious denial.

This guy was a F-ing dumbass! if you do a little research you’ll find that in recorded history there has NEVER been an attack on man by a wolf. We are not part of there natural diet, and amazeingly they don’t seem to want much to do with us other then eat our livestock and garbage. It’s because of idiots like this that the north american timber wolf, and gray wolf got pushed to the brink of extinction.
